TEAM BUILDING OPTIONS

BACKGROUND

Boot Camp SA’s Team Building Interventions follow well established structured programs which consist of team based tasks that have been developed and deployed with success over the past 10 years.

Our objectives are to engage staff members in an enjoyable and meaningful experience that is loads of fun, builds team spirit and brings staff members closer together.

Team buildings are designed to be rewarding and constructive, with activities that practice team work skills pertinent to the work place.

Our interventions consist of a combination of interesting and interactive problem solving tasks that require team input, member interaction & team strategising. Most missions are concluded with a reflection task where teams give their feedback to the group as to the importance of team work in the work place.

LOCATION

The venue is set up in the picturesque Giba Valley, Westmead/Pinetown, accessible from the N3 before the Marianhill Tollgate approx 15 km past The Pavilion Shopping Centre. The venue borders the Giba Valley Nature Reserve, consists of Obstacle Courses, Team Task Challenge Stations, a Paintball Field and an Archery Range.

1.  RECONNAISSANCE TEAM BUILDING – 4 hrs

STRUCTURED & FORMAL

The Reconnaissance Mission is our primary team building option and is guaranteed to give your staff members a great team building experience that will be enjoyed by all that take part.

This is an extremely dynamic & constructive Team Building excellent for building the team spirit of the group through engaging staff members in a common, fun & unique experience. Activities include the Commando Obstacle Course and other non-physical team tasks.

Tasks are followed by mini debriefings around team work and the reflection team feedback on the topic of team work in the work place.

2. TEAM SOCIAL BOOT CAMP TEAM BUILDING – 2½ hrs

FUN & INFORMAL
An interactive social and fun activity with excellent tasks for building relations amongst team members and practicing team work. Teams encounter various non-physical team work tasks requiring the group to plan together and follow through on the best idea. This option does not include the obstacle course.

3. COMMANDO TEAM BUILDING – 2½ hrs

FUN & ENERGISING

An interactive, dynamic & constructive activity with excellent tasks for building the team spirit of the group through engaging them in a common, fun & unique experience. The Commando Obstacle Course makes up the basis of the activities during this option.

4. INTELLIGENCE TEAM BUILDING – 6 hrs

FORMAL, OUTCOMES BASED

Similar to the Reconnaissance team building, with more focus on team work in terms of feedback sessions, focus groups and open discussions.

This option is perfect for the pro-active group that would like to improve their team work skills or groups with issues hampering their team work ability, that needs to be addressed.

Written Report: The intervention includes a report which summarises the aspects of team work that were highlighted and discussed by the teams.

SOCIAL OPTIONS

BACKGROUND

Our social options are designed to get staff members out of the office in a relaxed and informal environment. Social options are great to improve relations amongst staff members and to build team spirit. Instructors encourage participants to get involved, have some fun and enjoy their time out of the work place together.

1.           ARCHERY SOCIAL – 1½ hrs

A REALLY FUN SOCIAL ACTIVITY 

Archery is a fun and relaxed activity that anyone can enjoy (and hit the target with some practice). We start with an instruction on how to use the equipment and practice round or two for the group to get used to using the bow and arrow. 

Once everyone is feeling comfortable and has their eye in, we place the group into teams for a fun team competition consisting of three scoring rounds. After each round teams are updated on who is in the lead and who needs to get their eye.

2. PAINTBALL SOCIAL – 2½ hrs

ADRENALIN PUMPING

The ‘PAINTBALL’ social consists of a round-robin with teams of 5-6 ppl a side,winning teams stay on to challenge the next team. This is full contact paintball in the bush range. We have a max of 12 players in the field at any time. Suitable for groups of 10 – 24 but bigger groups can be catered with additional team tasks included.

3. SHARP SHOOTER TEAM SOCIAL – 2 hrs

MINI TEAM CHALLENGES
Enjoy a fun relaxed mini Archery Tournament followed by some light Paintball Target Shooting and the "building" of a Sniper Tower.

ADD ON ACTIVITIES

Nature Walk/Hike – 1 hr

5 km Hike along the scenic trails of Giba Gorge into the Valley and past the Mhlatazana River Waterfall and source.

Interactive Drumming Session – 1 hr

A great social activity where each person in the drumming circle is provided with a Djembe Drum and the musicians choreograph the group to achieve a melodious beat.
